ToPa 3D provides mapping services

that inform all parties involved on a project what is happening from an aerial perspective in the area or on the project site.

Our team has provided maps for timber companies to evaluate forest damage; to special interest groups to understand regional sustainability and impact studies; to construction firms to plan logistic routes and monitor overall project progress, to archeologists for large-scale site studies in limited access areas, and many more applications to include but not limited to: landslide and rockfall monitoring, quarry and stockpile volume calculations, and topographic surface analysis.

We love the outdoors and have staff trained in geology, geography, photogrammetry, remote sensing, thermography, GIS, and surveying, bringing to the table a solid team to take on your Geospatial project.

Getting a clear aerial picture of a large area for a project can inform all project stakeholders on what the lay of the land is, how logistics may be impacted by travel routes, where areas of concern may be located, to name a few.

Coordinate

Mapping a large area involves coordinating with often multiple entities that have a stake in the properties included in the project. Some of these properties may be impacted by the overall mapping project outcome and ToPa 3D understands that Geospatial projects are larger than any one client in most cases.

Map

Creating maps from the ground with scanners or from the skies with aircrafts carrying sensor payloads for Geospatial Mapping begins with expertise and a thorough understanding of how maps are made, choosing the right equipment, and having the right professionals on the team. Our team will ensure that all the boxes are checked and that the map is created right the first time through our extensive experience with the science of photogrammetry.

Analyze

Once the maps are made, our team can assist with analysis of the data collected by providing GIS overlays from a variety of datasets, geolocate CAD files, point files, and other spatial data in a robust number of coordinate systems to further inform the Geospatial area of interest. Our ToPa 3D team is adept at transforming data into any coordinate system that a project needs, relieving the common Geospatial project issues of data misalignment and confusion around having to work with multiple coordinate systems and projections

Atomic Drone Mapping

In one of our more recent and challenging projects, ToPa 3D was contracted to perform a somewhat complex volume calc of a mining quarry in South Carolina. A special shout out to our team member, Dr. Anson Hancock who processed this project and who seems to have no fear of any project - regardless of size or complexity.

Our mission was to produce a 3D model that could provide a rough order of magnitude of the quarry volume in specific areas. With a drone and 20mp camera, our team generated a 3D model using Pix4Dmapper software, tying the imagery captured into an orthomosiac and 3D model. We also generated a point cloud that would later be converted to Recap and imported into Autodesk's Civil3D 2020 software package.

[ToPa 3D’s team] is working at the cutting edge of 3D capture and modeling and aside from being a professional in his field, he is a wonderful person, extremely helpful to others, and always trying to innovate and collaborate. He also writes highly informative articles for various magazines and I always enjoy reading his work. I highly recommend Paul.
- Andrea S. Laliberte, Remote Sensing Scientist, Earthmetrics

Recently we had aerial topography work done at one of our mine sites here in South Carolina. Traditionally we would have an airplane fly over using expensive methods to capture this data. Fortunately we found ToPa 3D, a company that uses drones to collect imagery and then transform this information into really cool 3D maps! We are proud to be on the leading edge of technology in the mining industry, and thank ToPa 3D for their innovative services. [They] are a very professional staff using the most advanced equipment. These guys were able to quickly give us all the data we needed! Highly recommended.
- Ryan Williams, owner of Atomic Gravel and Sand

ToPa 3D went above and beyond on my project, which involve shooting half a dozen remote and undeveloped parcels for stills and video. They also provided a color enhancement service, which was done exceptionally well. I would hire them again in an instant, and recommend that you do too!
