"I want to mention how the [ToPa 3D] reality capture team has been valuable to Rosendin on this [project] campus. The first thing that has contributed to the success of this campus is the use of the 3D scans to back check the models after install in order to meet the required deviation as spelled out in the Bim Execution Plan at the beginning of each project. The scanning process has allowed us to capture accurately any field changes due to unforeseen field conditions, or if there was a CCD or design change that came out after modeling efforts were completed. Capturing these changes would be nearly impossible to get accurately into the model without the scans. The scans have been a valuable tool in the underground phase of the job before backfill and concrete pour. There are times where the scan was the only tool that saved us from missing an equipment window by as little as a half inch. Some equipment has tight entry windows and the scans allow us to back check that install before it is too late."
